The Implosion of The Republican Party

Allowing an outsider to run for President of the United States is believed to be the biggest mistake the Republican Party has made to date. Outside of electing President Nixon and having to impeach him; the Republican Party has struggled to gain diversity in their party for more than half-a-century. The leadership of the Republican Party refuses to change the projection of their party. The Republican Party continues to listen to old Party favorites from the 1940s and 1950's.

Actually, House Speaker Paul Ryan had the perfect opportunity to run for President this November 2016, and he passed on the opportunity. I expected (as a Democrat) for him to run with the other 18 party members who had no chance of winning. Furthermore, to get beat out by a non-established candidate should be a little embarrassing. Now, Speaker Paul Ryan is backing out of endorsing their nominee without saying it, but taking actions that imply he is no longer with his Republican candidate.

A Texas Congressman referred to the words "New York values," which might play to the eccentric personality of the person running. However, what the Congressman alleged is seemingly unfolding before our eyes. It stands to reason that we not elect a candidate that makes trouble where ever they go. Similarly, someone who picks arguments and fights with all kinds of entities. And fervently rejects defeat as if they are a pouting child. I see a signature move coming right after the November election. Our concern, as I often write is that America should expect the United States government to be sued. Particularly, the Republican Party is at risk for an out-right lawsuit, which would create collateral damage to their party long-term.

The United States Constitution does not specify personality traits of who can run for President. Perhaps we should, but we do not at this point. In order to work for the Federal government; you must pass certain clearances. However, to run for the highest office in the country, certain types of security clearances are not recommended. Had this been done in the case of our upcoming election, maybe we would not be having these very questionable conversations over a candidate's background and demeanor.

The Tea Party Republican's and established Republicans are in-fighting about who should lead and who will not. It's obvious that the TPB's did not want Paul Ryan to run for President in 2016. Because of Congressmen John Boehner's sudden departure, the Republican's had to choose someone quick, fast, in a hurry. Paul Ryan comes from my neighboring State of Illinois. In this day and age, you can look at the Internet to find all kinds of background information-before a candidate gets this far in their campaign. Neither of these candidates will go down without a fight, but in the meantime, will the Republican Party be torn to shreds? The Republican leadership and media will be blamed no matter what the outcome of the election. News organizations will be the ultimate victim when it is all said and done.

It will be interesting to see how both political parties recover from this horrible debacle that has rocked the electorate in the 2016 election. We are split at a time when we need to be united more than ever. I wonder what the future will look like for the candidates, and for Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. It will be interesting to watch. Stay tuned.
